Wu Jing to collaborate with Star-Lord on remake of Vietnamese action comedy "Guardians of Saigon"

According to foreign media Deadline, Universal Cinemas will remake the Vietnamese action comedy "Saigon Bodyguards" into an English-language movie, starring domestic action star Wu Jing and "Star-Lord" Chris Pratt.

"Guardians of Saigon" is adapted from the 2016 Vietnamese film of the same name. It tells the story of two bodyguards who have to find a highly-anticipated heir who was kidnapped under their protection. The script was written by Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck, the director and screenwriter of "Carnival of Nostalgia", and Pratt and the Russo brothers served as producers.

Original story: Handsome and serious Ah Zheng, paired with his clever and funny friend Ah Yuan, this time the task taken on by Saigon Bodyguard Company is to protect Henry, the heir of the Fresh Milk King Group. However, Henry was kidnapped by gangsters at his father's funeral, and the two encountered the most difficult task since they became bodyguards; who is the mastermind behind this conspiracy? How can Ah Zheng and Ah Yuan make up for their mistakes? Most importantly, can Henry successfully attend the group's board meeting and win back the company?
