New version of "Hellboy" released new stills, the Baron looks more like a teenager

Many fans may not have been too optimistic about the latest version of "Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen", especially the lighthearted tone of the first trailer, which made many viewers dissatisfied. The creative team once promised that there would be a new trailer to show the dark and terrifying side of the film, but before that trailer was released, the film studio revealed a new still today, with David Harbour playing "Hellboy".

In a conversation with Empire magazine, David also told readers that he did not imitate Ron Perlman's performance in the original film. "In the original film, Pullman's performance is very different and unique to him. I didn't want to imitate him. In our film, Hellboy is younger, rougher, more like a teenager. He is really struggling with whether he is a good person ."

Doug Jones, who played Abe Sapien in the original Hellboy series directed by Gyro (also known as the fishman in The Shape of Water), will not appear in the new version this time. In a recent conversation with foreign media, Doug admitted that the new version had invited him to make a cameo appearance, but the deal was not reached.

"Originally, there was an opportunity for me to make a cameo appearance in the new version, but then it was gone as things were developing," Doug said. "Rebooting means recasting, and I learned that this film doesn't have any other actors from the original version. I had received an offer to come in for a cameo, but I was busy filming Star Trek: Discovery at the time, so I couldn't do it." It is not yet known whether Doug's "guest appearance" will be to play Abe Sapien or someone else. I hope that in the new version, we will soon be able to see the new Sapien.

The new version of "Hellboy" is directed by Neil Marshall, starring Ian McShane as Professor Boom, Milla Jovovich as "Blood Queen" Nimue, Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan, and Daniel Kim as Ben Daimio; Penelope Mitchell plays Ganeida, who thinks the Blood Queen's anger has lasted too long; and Thomas Haden Church plays Lobster Johnson.

"Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen" will be released nationwide on April 12, and it is very likely to be released simultaneously in mainland China, and negotiations are currently underway.
