A new version of The Chronicles of Narnia is in pre-production and will begin filming this year

Recently, Greta Gerwig, the director of the live-action Barbie film, was interviewed by Deadline after the Oscars, revealing that a new version of the Chronicles of Narnia film is already in pre-production. The director said she will soon return to London to continue working on this new project.

The new version of "The Chronicles of Narnia" movie is scheduled to start shooting this year. This is a new "Narnia" universe (including movies and TV series) that Netflix plans to create. They have signed a multi-year contract with the company of C.S. Lewis, the author of the "Narnia" novel, and Greta Gerwig will direct two of the films.

Greta Gerwig says she is still searching for someone to oversee the special effects department to ensure the Chronicles of Narnia adaptation is as faithful to the books as possible. Gerwig also revealed she had written the script for the Chronicles of Narnia movie before filming began on the live-action Barbie movie.
