Disney is considering rebooting Pirates of the Caribbean with Deadpool screenwriter

According to foreign media reports, the 15-year-old "Pirates of the Caribbean" series has attracted countless fans around the world, but the performance of the recent sequels has been unsatisfactory. Recently, there are reports that Disney is considering whether to restart the entire "Pirates of the Caribbean" series, after all, this series is an important cash cow for Disney.

According to reports, Disney hopes that the screenwriter duo of "Deadpool" Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese will be in charge of the rebooted version of "Pirates of the Caribbean". For Disney, this is a relatively risky choice, after all, these two screenwriters have always written scripts for comedy films. In addition to "Deadpool", they also wrote the script for "Zombieland". However, from another perspective, changing the screenwriter means changing the style, which is undoubtedly a good thing for the new version of "Pirates of the Caribbean".

The "Pirates of the Caribbean" series of films is a fantasy adventure film directed by Gore Verbinski, Joachim Ronnie and Espen Sandberg, starring Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley and others. The series includes "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl", "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest", "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End", "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales", a total of 5 films. It tells the story of the grievances of several pirates: Jack was abandoned on a deserted island by another pirate captain, and his "Black Pearl" pirate ship was swindled away; Captain Barbossa needed a special thing to solve the spell that turned him into a skeleton under the moonlight; the blacksmith Will was actually the son of a pirate, but he himself did not know it, and he just gave the "heirloom" left behind when he was a child to his sweetheart.

At present, it is not known whether the original actors will return to the crew, and the specific casting and shooting date of the film are also unknown.
