Disney stands firm, and Gunn, the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, is in trouble

IGN shared with us today new developments in the incident involving Gunn, the director of "Guardians of the Galaxy 3". Gunn and Disney Studios head Alan Horn met on Tuesday, but Disney and Marvel have not changed their minds. The fired Gunn will not come back to direct "Guardians of the Galaxy 3".

After a meeting between James Gunn and Disney chairman Alan Horn, Marvel and Disney have decided not to reinstate Gunn as director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

According to Variety, "Gunn and his supporters worked hard to get him a second chance, and Horn decided to have a friendly meeting with Gunn on Tuesday." The meeting was said to be "courteous and professional," but sources revealed that Horn did not change his position and they will continue to shoot "Guardians of the Galaxy 3" without Gunn as director.

Sources also said that Marvel chairman Kevin Feige did not attend the meeting. There are also rumors that Feige was trying to bring Gunn back to the crew, but was powerless to do anything about the result that Gunn could not return.

There is no news yet on whether Disney and Marvel will continue to use the script written by Gunn, but Drax the Destroyer actor Dave Bautista said that if they don't use Gunn's script, he will not play the Destroyer again.
