Amazing size! Statham and Li Bingbing release new stills of "The Meg"

According to foreign media reports, new stills from the blockbuster movie "The Meg," starring Hollywood star Jason Statham and Li Bingbing, were recently released, revealing the true appearance of the prehistoric megalodon for the first time.

How big is the Megalodon? In the movie, the Megalodon is said to have been extinct for 1 million years, and this "survivor" is about 70 feet (about 21 meters) long. In the new stills, the Megalodon swims underwater in the coastal waters where tourists gather, and humans are too small to be worth mentioning in front of it.

In the movie "The Meg", an international scientific research project led by China is being carried out in the depths of the Mariana Trench, but it is suddenly attacked by an unknown creature and the researchers are trapped on the seabed. Former US Marine Corps deep-sea diving expert Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) is ordered to rescue and encounters the prehistoric creature Megalodon, which left him an indelible memory in the deep sea several years ago. Jonas teamed up with Chinese female scientist Zhang Suyin (Li Bingbing) in the scientific research project to successfully rescue the trapped people, but a series of accidents occurred in the rescue operation. When the prehistoric giant Megalodon escapes from the deep sea, everyone will face an unprecedented disaster crisis.

"The Meg" is adapted from the science fiction novel series of the same name by American writer Steve Alton. It is directed by American director Joe Dettoba, who has filmed the "National Treasure" series. It stars British action star Jason Statham and Chinese actress Li Bingbing. Australian actress Ruby Rose, who became famous for her role in the hit American TV series "Orange Is the New Black", Taiwanese actor Winston Chao, and child star Cai Shuya, who starred in "Somewhere Only We Know", also play major roles in the film.

The film is scheduled to be released in North America on August 10 (in North America, "The Meg" is rated PG-13 and is not suitable for children under 13 years old), and the mainland release date is July 27.
