Disney cancels ABC series due to poor ratings in first season

According to foreign media reports, the series "Journey to the West ABC", directed by Lucy Liu and "Shang-Chi" director Destin Cretton, and starring Michelle Yeoh, Daniel Wu, and Wang Ban, has been canceled by Disney+.

Disney+ highly praised the creativity of the show, but ultimately decided not to renew it due to poor ratings for its first season. The show's producers need to find another platform.

"Journey to the West ABC" will be broadcast in May 2023. It tells the story of a teenager named Wang Jin who is bullied at school because of his Chinese identity. At this time, an accident makes him involved in the modern adventure of the Chinese mythological Monkey King, and his life will be completely changed from this moment on! Michelle Yeoh plays Guanyin, Daniel Wu plays the Monkey King, and Xu Weilun plays the Goddess Shiji. They all hide their identities as immortals and live in the modern world.
