The original manga manuscripts of "Devilman" author Nagai Go were destroyed in a fire at the memorial hall

Affected by the 7.6-magnitude earthquake in Japan at the beginning of the year, Wajima City in the northern part of Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan was also affected and suffered secondary disasters, with multiple fires and more than 200 buildings collapsed.

Unfortunately, the fire also destroyed Wajima City’s landmark building, the Nagai Go Memorial Hall.

Born in Wajima City in September 1945, Nagai Go began creating comics after recovering from a serious illness at the age of 19. His representative works include "Devilman", "Mazinger Z", "Getter Robot", and "The School of Shame".

In order to commemorate Nagai Go's achievements in the comics industry, Wajima City announced in 2006 that the Nagai Go Memorial Hall would be built in 2009. However, in this large-scale fire, the Nagai Go Memorial Hall and the collection of figures, comic manuscripts, etc. were all burned.

Fortunately, Nagai Go himself currently lives in Tokyo and is therefore not affected by the disaster.
