Jason Momoa, who currently plays the superhero Aquaman in the DC movie universe, is uncertain about his future in the franchise. In an interview with ET, Momoa said that Aquaman 2: The Lost Kingdom may mark his last time playing the role. He said: "I don't necessarily want it to be the end... but I don't think it's really an option." He revealed that DC's current film heads James Gunn and Peter Safran discussed it. Momoa hinted that the two are inclined to start "their own new things." This may mean that all the characters will replace the actors, including him. Momoa said: "I mean, the truth is, if the audience loves it, then it's a possibility. (But) right now, I'm not optimistic about the possibility. I love this character and I want to play it for a longer time... If there is a place for me in their world, I'd love to be a part of it." However, in addition to Aquaman, he is also willing to play other DC characters. He said: "I have been a loyal fan of (interstellar mercenary) Lobod since I was a child. I have read every comic...Warner and DC are definitely my home." Aquaman: Fallen Kingdom is set to hit theaters on December 22. |
