Wanda Films is about to change hands, with Tencent appearing behind Shanghai Ruyi

Wanda Film and Television recently issued an announcement that the company recently received a notice that its indirect controlling shareholder Beijing Wanda Cultural Industry Group Co., Ltd. and its wholly-owned subsidiary Beijing Hengrun Enterprise Management Development Co., Ltd. and the company's actual leader Wang Jianlin plan to transfer their total 51% equity in the company's main controlling shareholder Beijing Wanda Investment Co., Ltd. to Shanghai Ruyi Investment Management Co., Ltd.

If the above matters are finally implemented smoothly, the control of the company will change. Upon the company's application, the company's stock will resume trading when the market opens on the morning of December 13 (Wednesday).

Shanghai Ruyi is a "dark horse" in the film and television industry in recent years. It has produced many hit film and television dramas such as "Hello, Li Huanying", "Nirvana in Fire", "The Legend of Miyue", etc. Ruyi also participated in the investment of this year's box office hit "She's Missing".

Shanghai Ruyi is a subsidiary of China Ruyi. In terms of revenue, China Ruyi is not as big as Wanda Film. However, the largest shareholder behind China Ruyi is Tencent Holdings.
