Due to the ongoing strike by the American actors' union SAG-AFTRA, Deadpool 3 has officially announced that its release will be postponed. According to DEADLINE, the film, which is still in production, seems to no longer be able to be released as scheduled on May 3, 2024. The report said that even if the strike ends in a few weeks, the production team will not have enough time to reunite the cast and crew to start filming. "Deadpool 3" is directed by "Gamer" director Shawn Levy, and the script is continued by "Deadpool" series screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. It is expected to be the first Marvel movie rated R. Director Shawn Levy recently told TheWrap: “I wish I knew, I don’t even know if we’ve officially set (a release date). Certainly, the actors’ strike and the long pause in production put the release date at risk. We’ve shot half of the movie. I’ve edited the half that we’ve shot. We’re very much looking forward to getting back to work and getting the movie out next year.” |
