IGN's rating for Indiana Jones 5 is out, giving it a 4. IGN said that Indiana Jones 5: Wheel of Fortune failed to recreate Spielberg's magic. The lackluster action, conflicting themes and character motivations prove that some series should have ended. Overall review: By bringing Indiana Jones out of retirement once again for a fifth (and hopefully final) movie, Disney is proving that some franchises are meant to end. Or at least that reviving a franchise should spend at least a little of its 154 minutes doing something other than desperately trying to justify its existence. Even the sincere efforts of Harrison Ford and John Williams can't save such an aimless and disjointed film and recapture the charm of the original. "Wheel of Fortune" asks the question of why Indiana Jones embarks on this adventure and what he gets on the other side, but gives contradictory answers and doesn't strike a balance in the middle. This is a movie about letting go of the past and moving forward, but it fails to do so itself. The score on MTC is only 53 points |
