"The Meg 2: Abyss" is scheduled to be released nationwide on August 4 in mainland China

Sina Films reported today (May 9) that The Meg 2: Abyss released a trailer, and the official release date in mainland China is August 4, which is the same as the release date around the world! Jason Statham and Wu Jing teamed up to cross the thermocline accidentally discovered in the previous film The Meg, explore the unknown 7,000-meter abyss, and fight against the most powerful monsters in the deep sea. This time, there will not only be a larger and more powerful group of megalodons, but also more ancient monsters, which will give the world view of deep-sea monsters under the thermocline a prototype.

The film is directed by Ben Wheatley, with Joe Hobel & Erich Hobel continuing to serve as screenwriters. It is adapted from the novel by Steve Alten, starring Jason Statham, Wu Jing and others.
