Dolph Lundgren: I have been fighting cancer for 8 years. Before the filming of Aquaman 2, I was told that I only had 3 years to live.

Veteran action star Dolph Lundgren recently revealed to the media that he has been fighting cancer for the past eight years. In 2015, doctors first discovered and removed a tumor on the actor's kidney.

“I had scans every six months, which slowly became annual scans. I recovered well over the five years,” Lundgren said. “In 2020, I returned to Sweden and had some acid reflux, so I had an MRI and found that there were still six tumors around the area, one of which had become too large to be removed.”

Since then, Lundgren has started systemic treatment. In the fall of 2021, while filming Aquaman 2 and The Expendables 4 in London, more tumors were found in his body. "The situation is much worse than we thought," Lundgren said. "The doctor advised me to take a rest and spend more time with my family. I asked him how long he could live, and they said 2-3 years."

After seeking medical treatment from many doctors and using the correct treatment methods, his tumor shrank by 20% to 30% within three months, and the combination of surgery and medication suppressed the development of cancerous tissue.

Lundgren plays King Nereus in "Aquaman 2" and will continue to play gunner Jason in "The Expendables 4". The former will be released in North America on December 20 this year, and the latter will be released in North America on September 22 this year.
