The 47th Kodansha Manga Award Winners Announced: Grand Prize Winner: "Youth in Motion"

Japanese publisher Kodansha announced the winners of its 47th annual manga awards on Wednesday.

The Best Shonen Manga went to Shangri-La: Exploring a Different World. The story follows a high school student named Yomu Lelang, a gamer who loves playing trashy games. His gaming skills are so good that he becomes an urban legend after being invited to play a VR full-immersion game called Shangri-La: Exploring a Different World, where he discovers many secrets.

Other nominated manga include Akane Rakugo, Hanakaori Rinran, GACHI AKUTA, and Hotline Striker Daigo. Shangri-La was also nominated in 2022, but the winner that year was Reborn as a Slime.

The Best Girls' Manga went to Her Child by Mamoru Aoi. The manga tells the story of a high school couple who get pregnant before they get married. The manga takes an honest but gentle look at the realities of teenage pregnancy.

Other nominated works include "The Bright Moon Welcoming the Night", "Which Side of Duo Wenjun Is He Now?" and "Fingertips and Love".

Other nominated works include "Star of Girls' School", "Darwin Incident", "Dancing Ice Prayer" and so on.
