The animated adaptation of the mystery novel series "After Dinner" released a promotional trailer and will be broadcast in April 2025

The mystery novel series "Mystery After Dinner" written by Atsuya Higashikawa was first serialized in Shogakukan in 2007, then transferred to "KIRARA" in 2009, and officially published in September 2010, and later won the "2011 Honya Award".

The work was also adapted into a TV series in 2011 and a movie in 2013, which also received good responses. Recently, the official trailer for the animation adaptation of "After Dinner" was released, and it was announced that it will be officially broadcast in April 2025. It is the first animation to be broadcast after Fuji TV's "noitaminA" adjusted its time slot (from 0:55 on Thursday to 11 pm).

It is understood that the animation will be produced by MADHOUSE, directed by Mitsuyuki Masuhara, with Orekho Tachibana as the original character designer, Mari Kunisawa as the script coordinator, Izumi Kawata as the character designer and general animation supervisor, and Tsuyoshi Hama as the music director. In terms of voice actors, Kana Hanazawa, Yuki Kaji, and Mamoru Miyano will play the rookie detective Reiko Hosou, the housekeeper Kageyama, and Reiko's direct superior Kyouichiro Kazamatsuri, respectively.

The original story of "After Dinner Reasoning" is about a rookie detective named Reiko Hosho who has just started working at the National Police Agency of the Metropolitan Police Department. In fact, she is the daughter of the world-famous "Hosho Group" that owns countless companies. Reiko always deliberately conceals her identity at work, but her immediate superior, Inspector Kazesami, who is investigating the case with her, does not hide the fact that he is the son of a wealthy family. It is no surprise that this pair of detective partners, a young master and a rich girl, always reason in the wrong direction when investigating the murder scene, causing the case to be deadlocked... Just after Reiko got home from get off work, while eating dinner and chatting about what happened today, the butler Kageyama who served beside her always pointed out the key to solving the case - the wonderful performance of the rich detective and the poisonous butler, and the humorous reasoning began.
