Cinema responds to "The Wandering Earth 2" being replaced with "Man Jiang Hong": Equipment failure

On January 24, a Weibo user reported that the movie ticket he bought for "The Wandering Earth 2" was refunded by the cinema due to "equipment failure", and then he found that the cinema had given the same screening room to "Red River" which was released at the same time on the same day. The news caused controversy after it was exposed.

In response to this, staff at the cinema involved told Observer.com on the 25th that a machine did malfunction on the day of the refund, and that changing the screening schedule based on film attendance is also a common practice for cinemas.

In response to questions about "changing films", relevant staff emphasized that theaters usually arrange their subsequent screenings based on the attendance of the film the previous day. If the film sells well, the number of screenings will be increased or changed accordingly. "Any theater does this," and this incident was also a "normal adjustment."

As for how long before the movie starts the theater will change the schedule, the staff member said that as long as the schedule is reviewed before the theater can make changes, the relevant data is also published on Lighthouse Professional Edition and Maoyan Professional Edition. She said that for this theater, the schedule is usually changed the night before, but during the Chinese New Year, the staff are often busy until two or three in the morning, and the adjustment of the schedule may be postponed as appropriate.

Some netizens also expressed helplessness about this response. What do you think about this?
