"God of War" live-action series will be faithful to the original Amazon executives boast that they are good at adaptation

Previously, Amazon announced that it would produce a live-action series of "God of War". Many fans were happy to hear the news, but some fans were also worried that the live-action series might stray too far from the game. Recently, Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon Studios, was interviewed by foreign media Collider. He assured God of War fans that the live-action series will be faithful to the original work.

In the interview, the reporter asked Vernon Sanders what he most wanted to show the fans and why the "God of War" universe was so attractive to them? Sanders said that Amazon has rich experience in adaptation and said that the strong emotional core really resonated with them.

"We've done a very good job in adaptation, and The Boys and Invincible Young Swords have both achieved good results. We know that God of War has a huge fan base, but what we've been looking for is whether there is a real emotional core and whether there is a real narrative story. I think this is part of what makes God of War so special."

"At the center of it all is a story about fathers and sons and family, set against the backdrop of a grand epic story. So what Rafe, Mark, and Hawk have done for the first season and the entire series, I think, is both faithful to the original and has its own appeal. If you've never played God of War, you'll love God of War, so we think the series has great potential."

The live-action series of "God of War" is produced by Rafe Judkins of "Wheel of Time", written by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, and executive produced by "God of War" director Cory Barlog. The story is adapted from the 2018 version of the game, telling the story of the God of War Kratos and his son embarking on a journey to scatter his wife's ashes. During their journey, they fight new gods and monsters, and test the emotional bond between father and son.
