"Parasite" director Bong Joon-ho's new film "Mickey No. 17" released behind the scenes trailer starring Robert Pattinson

South Korean director Bong Joon-ho of "Parasite" recently premiered his latest film "Mickey 17" at CinemaCon. This sci-fi work will star the new Batman, Robert Pattinson.

The trailer, which has not yet been released to the public, is said to show Robert Pattinson's character Mickey being sent on a series of suicide missions. Just like the game, death is not the end, as Mickey is resurrected in a cloned body.

The soundtrack of the trailer is Dean Martin's "Ain't That Kick in the Head." Germain Lussier, a film critic at Gizmodo who saw the trailer, said: "Robert Pattinson's accent is very special, strange and harsh. He dies in various situations. Lava, ice, space, etc. It drives super nonsensical but great, I can't wait."

According to Bong Joon-ho who was present at the scene, the film was adapted from Edward Ashton's novel "Mickey Number 7" by adding a "number of deaths". He joked: "I killed him 10 more times." In addition, Pattinson will also play his "evil brother" Mickey Number 18.

Pattinson said: "This is one of the funniest, weirdest science fiction scripts I've ever read in my life."

In the original novel "Mickey No. 7", the protagonist Mickey joined the interstellar colonization plan, signed a contract to sell his physical body, uploaded his personality, and became a high-level working "consumable body" on the spacecraft who could die repeatedly.

The cast of Mickey17 also includes Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead), Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo. It was originally scheduled to be released on March 29, 2024, but has been postponed to January 31, 2025.
