Netflix's American drama "Wednesday" is in talks to be renewed, with Amazon to produce it

Amazon, which bought the studio MGM for $8.5 billion, will now produce the hit Netflix series Wednesday, which has quickly become the second-most popular English-language series on Amazon's rival.

The Jenna Ortega-starring series has surpassed 1 billion hours of viewing in less than a month. It is the third show on Netflix to do so, surpassing previous hit Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and only behind Stranger Things Season 4.

At present, it seems that renewal is an inevitable result, but according to sources, the renewal is still under negotiation and will be determined in the new year. Producers and writers have begun discussing the second season and are considering shooting in two locations at the same time in the second season. MGM has been reorganized as Amazon Studios, but no one thinks this will affect future series, and insiders expect renewal negotiations to go very smoothly.
