American TV series "Westworld" is about to leave HBO streaming platform

One month after HBO canceled the renewal of its most popular original series "Westworld," the company is planning to remove the series from its streaming service, according to multiple media reports.

It's unclear when Westworld will be removed from HBO Max, but it's not the only show that will be removed. Reports indicate that HBO's Neverland and Love Life will also need to find other platforms.

According to DEADLINE, the decision to remove the series came during a "financial review" at the company. The shows are said to "may reappear on other companies' platforms." Variety reported that Warner Bros. Discovery cut off ongoing payments to actors and production staff in order to save costs.

HBO Max is about to merge with Discovery Plus, another streaming platform being explored by Warner Bros., and will be renamed Max. The platform has lost a lot of other content in the past few months, but "Westworld" is indeed one of the platform's most popular series.

While Westworld's ratings have declined over the course of its four seasons, if the show is canceled, other content is likely to be removed from the platform as well.
