Jake Gyllenhaal to star in Apple TV series adaptation of Innocence

Acclaimed actor Jake Gyllenhaal is making his television debut. He is in talks to star in and executive produce the series Innocence, an upcoming adaptation for Apple TV+ from David E. Kelley (The Lawyer, Boston Legal), J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot, and Warner Bros. TV.

Kelly will write, executive produce and showrunner the series, which is inspired by Scott Turodeau's 1987 courtroom mystery novel of the same name, which was later adapted into a 1990 feature film starring Harrison Ford and tells the story of a gruesome murder case in a Chicago prosecutor's office.

Jake Gyllenhaal will play Harrison Ford's character in the film, prosecutor Rusty Sabich, who is suspected of killing a close colleague and all the evidence points to him.
