Disney's streaming subscribers surpass Netflix, Disney+ expected to be profitable by the end of 2024

According to foreign media reports, as of October 1, in the third quarter of 2022, Disney+'s global subscribers had surged to 164.2 million, a surge of 12.1 million from the previous quarter and 9.3 million higher than market expectations.

Including subscribers to Disney's other streaming services: Hulu and ESPN+, the total number of global subscribers to Disney's major streaming services reached 235.7 million, exceeding Netflix's 223.1 million in the same quarter and Warner Bros. Discovery's total subscribers of HBO, HBO Max, and Discovery+ of 95 million.

It is expected that by the end of fiscal 2024, the total number of Disney streaming subscribers will reach 300-350 million, and Disney+ is expected to be profitable.
