"Voldemort" once again supports JK Rowling: Cyber violence is disgusting!

According to foreign media Vanityfair recently, Ralph Fiennes, who played "Voldemort" in "Harry Potter", talked about JK Rowling in an interview with the New York Times. He said that the insults against Rowling were disgusting and terrible.

Ralph Fiennes first praised Rowling's talent, saying that her books are intended to convey how to become a better, stronger and more moral person. He said bluntly: "The verbal violence against her is disgusting and terrible." Then he added: "I mean, I can understand her point of view on women's speech. Rowling just said: 'I am a woman, I feel I am a woman, and I hope to be able to say I am a woman.' I understand her starting point, even though I am not a woman."

Note that this is not the first time Fiennes has spoken for Rowling. When Rowling was insulted by everyone, Fiennes said: "I can't understand the vicious language against her. I know everyone has debates, but now this era seems to be full of accusations. People are full of hatred and verbal violence against people who have different opinions from themselves. These make people feel uneasy."

In June 2020, Rowling reposted a news article titled "In this pandemic, let's create a more equal world for people who menstruate" and made a comment, saying "Why are they called 'people with menstruation'? I'm pretty sure there's a unified name for this kind of people." This comment put her in the middle of controversy. In addition to being regarded as "transphobic" by opponents, she also continued to suffer online violence from radical netizens. Her home address was also exposed, and she received death threats, and was even once excluded from the "Harry Potter" world she created.

After Rowling was embroiled in controversy, several leading actors in the Harry Potter films, including Daniel Radcliffe (Harry), Rupert Grint (Ron) and Emma Watson (Hermione), have avoided suspicion and publicly expressed their support for the transgender community and their opposition to Rowling's views. So far, the "opposition wave" against Rowling abroad has not subsided. Earlier this month, Tom Felton, who played Malfoy, expressed his gratitude and admiration for Rowling, which attracted attacks from radical transgender activists.
