The heroine of the live-action movie "Snow White" responded to the controversy: We are politically correct

According to foreign media Vanityfair, Rachel Zegler, the heroine of Disney's live-action movie "Snow White", was interviewed by "Vanity Fair" and responded to the casting controversy of a Latino to play Snow White.

Rachel Zegler said: "Some people joked that this is a politically correct Snow White. Well, yes! Because it has to be. Because the previous animated version is an old story from 85 years ago, and this time it is a brand new movie, telling the experience of a young woman, and the film is no longer limited to 'One day, my prince will come.'"

Rachel Zegler pointed out that the new version of Snow White was given a new mission, the goal is to become a "fair ruler and queen." Gal Gadot, who plays the evil queen, also said: "It is a great pleasure to play the first Disney villain and explore the other side of the villain. This role is very different from the roles I have played in the past. But it is a pleasant process to go deep into the self of this character."

The live-action movie "Snow White" is directed by Marc Webb, with Rachel Zegler playing Snow White and Gal Gadot playing the villain, the Evil Queen. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, songwriters of "La La Land" and "The Greatest Showman", will create new songs for it. This live-action version is adapted from the 1937 classic animation, Disney's first animated feature film "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". The queen, jealous of the princess's beauty, tricked her into eating a poisoned apple. But in the end, Snow White was resurrected and married the prince she fell in love with at first sight. Her stepmother died tragically.

The live-action movie "Snow White" has officially wrapped up and will be released in North America on March 22, 2024.
