Sony to remake sci-fi movie "Barbarella"

According to foreign media reports, Sony has decided to remake the science fiction film "Barbarina: A Space Odyssey" and has selected Sydney Sweeney, the actress of "Euphoria" and "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood", as the heroine.

"Barbarella," starring Jane Fonda, was released in 1968. It is a cult classic that combines eroticism and science fiction. Barbarella is a female James Bond in the year 40,000 AD, specializing in conquering demons and monsters in the space galaxy. When she is forced to land on a planet, she has to face a homosexual evil queen, a blind handsome angel, and more.

Sydney Sweeney, 25, has played major roles in the Netflix series "All Is Not Right" and the HBO series "Euphoria", "Sharp Objects" and "White Lotus Resort". She starred in the 2020 movie "Welcome to the Blum House: Nocturne". She was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Drama Ensemble for the TV series "The Handmaid's Tale" and is currently filming Sony's "Spider-Madame".
