Is the appearance of same-sex couple characters in "Peppa Pig" a victory for LGBTQ?

According to foreign media NBC, a lesbian character appeared in the cartoon "Peppa Pig" for the first time. Polar bear Penny drew her family and told Peppa that she had two mothers.

In an episode of Peppa Pig aired on Britain's Channel 5 on Tuesday, Penny the polar bear was drawn holding hands with two polar bears and telling Peppa: "I'm Penny and I live with my mum and my other mum."

Penny says in the episode titled "Family" that one of her moms is a doctor and the other can make pasta.

After the show aired, some people said: "Many people who watch the show have two moms or two dads, which means their experiences are reflected in an iconic children's show." Others said the move was pointless, while others said it was politically correct.

The Peppa Pig cartoon has been translated into more than 40 languages and broadcast in more than 180 countries and regions, becoming a world-renowned cartoon. However, it has also been criticized for showing a nuclear family structure where the father works and the mother stays at home, reinforcing gender stereotypes. Therefore, many people have called for gay characters to be set in cartoons. Now that lesbian characters have appeared in cartoons, can it be regarded as a victory for LGBTQ?
