Captain America & Gosling's "Gray Man" has a very low reputation and a Rotten Tomatoes freshness rating of 49%

The foreign media's reputation ban on the action blockbuster "Gray Man", starring "Captain America" Chris Evans and "Commander Gosling" Ryan Gosling and directed by the Russo brothers, has been lifted. Currently, the Rotten Tomatoes freshness is only 49% (59 reviews), the popcorn index is 88%, and the MTC average score is 50 (31 reviews).

Foreign media criticized the film for wasting its star cast, being full of clichés, and the Russo brothers' substandard work. The film was released in some theaters on July 15 and was available on Netflix on July 22.

Gray Man is adapted from the novel of the same name by Mark Greene. It focuses on the story of former CIA spy and freelance assassin Kurt Gentry (Ryan Gosling), who is hunted around the world by his former CIA colleague Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans). The film is known as Netflix's most expensive film to date, with a production cost of more than $200 million, attempting to create a 007-level spy film series.

Selected media comments:

Variety: Netflix’s most exciting original action film since Bright (the 2017 movie starring Will Smith).

Entertainment Weekly: It has comical violence, and the characters are all very articulate and occasionally funny.

USA Today: This sleek, flashy film satirizes spy movies. There are worse things than watching evil Chris Evans hunt Commander Gosling for two hours.

Chicago Sun-Times: "The bloated, overblown, brain-dead Netflix action film "The Gray Man" is a frustratingly formulaic work that wastes the talents of the Russo brothers and their A-list actors and is a complete waste of your two hours and two minutes of time."

The Globe and Mail believes: "The people who made this movie know what a good thriller can bring to the audience, but they don't have the ability to make it."

IGN: The film wastes an all-star cast, giving the actors little room to shine beyond witticisms. Although generally watchable, it is visually and emotionally shallow.
