Thor 4's Malaysian release postponed by two weeks

The release date of Thor 4 in Malaysia has been postponed. The film was originally scheduled to be released on July 7, but it has now been postponed for two weeks and will be released on July 21.

The news was initially announced by Malaysia’s leading cinema chain, Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC), on Twitter, “Please note that the release date of Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder in Malaysia has been postponed by Disney to July 21, 2022.”

GSC also said that any audience members who have pre-purchased tickets will receive a full refund. It is not clear why Thor 4 was delayed in Malaysia.

According to IGN Southeast Asia, Malaysia has a strict film censorship policy and Malaysian authorities may be censoring some scenes in the film. Last month, Disney's "Lightyear" was banned from theaters.

However, these are just speculations at this point.

Thor: Love and Thunder was well received by the few critics who saw it, with some noting that the film was crazier and funnier than Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok.
