Warner Bros. to restructure its top management and establish DC Films

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Discovery, which successfully merged, has made major adjustments to its senior management. Toby Emmerich, who has been in charge of Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema for nearly 30 years, has stepped down and will be replaced by former MGM executives Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy.

Toby Emmerich will set up his own company and reach a production cooperation agreement with Warner to be responsible for movies, American TV series and streaming media works. Emmerich has been working at Warner since 1992. He was previously the chairman of New Line Cinema, and later served as Warner COO. In 2017, he became the head of Warner Film Group.

Under his leadership, Warner's global box office reached US$5.57 billion, creating high-grossing films such as "Aquaman" and award-winning films such as "A Star is Born" and "Joker".

It is reported that Warner Discovery CEO David Zaslav intends to refer to the strategy of former Disney CEO Bob Iger and divide the company's business into three branches, each with its own leader, who will report directly to him. Earlier, foreign media also disclosed that Warner will imitate Marvel Studios and establish DC Studios.

Warner Bros. & New Line Cinema: Led by DeLuca and Abdy;

DC Films: Walter Hamada will temporarily serve as the head of DC Films before the reorganization and will report to DeLuca and Abdy.
