New details about the new Star Wars TV series directed by Jon Watt, the director of the Spider-Man movie, have surfaced. According to Vanity Fair, the Star Wars TV series directed by Jon Watt has not yet had a complete name, and the development codename is Grammar Rodeo, which refers to an episode of The Thompsons. Watt's Star Wars TV series is reportedly set after the events of the movie Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, and takes place in the "rebuilding period after the fall of the Empire." This will be the same timeline as Disney's The Mandalorian TV series. It is said that the TV series aims to be a "galactic version" of Spielberg's 1980s adventure movie. The report states that Watts created and will serve as executive producer of the series alongside Chris Ford, with whom Watts developed Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017). Disney is looking to cast four children, aged around 11 or 12, in the film. Disney's next Star Wars series will be Obi-Wan, which premieres later this month, and after that, Andor and Ahsoka. Watts recently withdrew from Marvel's Fantastic Four, arguing that he "needed to take a break from superhero movies." |
