According to IGN, Netflix is working on a live-action version of Mega Man, which is currently in the very early stages of production. Netflix has not officially announced the film yet, but the film's production company, Supermarché, accidentally let the cat out of the bag in a recent update on its official website. "Henry, Rel and their in-house producer Orlee-Rose Strauss maintain an active development schedule, with ongoing productions including an adaptation of Capcom's Mega Man for Chernin Entertainment and Netflix, which they are writing and directing," the company's website states. The live-action Mega Man movie was first announced by 20th Century Fox in 2018, just a few days after the release of Mega Man 11. At that time, the film also had the development name "MEGA MAN", and Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman were confirmed to write and direct. Although little news has come out about the Mega Man live-action movie since it was announced, Joost and Schulman confirmed last year that the film was still in development. In addition to "Mega Man", Netflix has successfully launched a number of game adaptations, including "Castlevania", "The Demon Hunter" and "League of Legends: War of Two Cities". |
