The creator of the live-action TV series "Hunted: Showdown" said that the horror will be created by atmosphere

Previously, the gloomy horror shooting game "Hunting: Showdown" announced that it would be adapted into a TV series. The game is set in the 1890s, when a mysterious plague hit Louisiana, turning some humans into horrible monsters. In this desolate land, players need to search for supernatural loot as a bounty hunter and escape with treasure in an environment full of zombies, monsters and other bounty hunters.

All the plots in the game come from the descriptions of monsters and the diaries found, and many of the diaries show that most people "don't know what the hell is wrong here." This has caused many concerns among fans of the game: there is a lot of room for creativity, but in the wrong hands it will turn into a disaster.

Pascal Tonecker, the executive producer of the TV series, assured fans that the creations are on the right track, at least in terms of how the TV series will capture the horror atmosphere of the games. "We want to create something that evokes the atmosphere of horror," he told PCgamer. "There are no cheap horror scenes with sudden scares in the TV series. The series will be shot around the horror atmosphere of Hunt: Showdown - it's very depressing and very scary at the same time."

Although the director of the show cannot be revealed at this time, Tonecker said: "He has a very high reputation for creating some horror-type feature films and TV series." As a reference for inspiration, the crew is watching "Alien" and "British Horror Story".

Louisiana’s swamps, farmsteads, and abandoned mining towns are crucial to Hunt: Showdown’s unique atmosphere. Tonecker says the show will be “shot as much as possible on location and as little as possible in studios because we believe this show thrives on real-life props.”
