Black Panther 2 filming halted after lead actress refuses to be vaccinated

Last week, foreign media reported that Black Panther 2 (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) announced the suspension of filming due to the slow recovery of Black Panther's sister Princess Shuri (played by Letitia Wright). Recently, The Hollywood Reporter stated that Letitia Wright refused to be vaccinated against the new coronavirus, making it impossible for her to enter the United States to shoot the film.

In August this year, during a shoot in Boston, USA, Letitia Wright was injured while wearing stunt equipment. She thought the injury was minor and she would be able to return to work soon. But after being discharged from the hospital, she stayed in London and did not return to the United States to work.

The US CDC stipulates that any non-US citizen entering the United States by plane needs to be vaccinated against the new coronavirus. Letitia Wright, 28, was born in Guyana and immigrated to the UK at the age of 7. She does not have US citizenship. If she refuses to be vaccinated, she will not be able to return to the set of "Black Panther 2" in Atlanta, USA.

Director Ryan Coogler had previously finished filming all the scenes without Princess Shuri, but the heroine was unable to return, so the filming had to be stopped and waited. The film's release date was postponed from July next year to November. Marvel and the actor have not yet responded to media inquiries. If the heroine does not return to filming, it is not ruled out that the film will be postponed again.
