"Eternals" becomes the lowest-rated MCU movie on Rotten Tomatoes

As of October 31, the Marvel superhero movie "Eternals" has recorded 125 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, and its freshness has dropped to 60%, becoming the lowest-rated movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The previous lowest rating was 66% for "Thor 2". The film will be released in North America on November 5 (this Friday).

The positive reviews of "Eternals" are focused on its ambition, grand scenes, and humanistic care; the negative reviews are focused on its boring story and lack of the relaxed temperament of Marvel movies. The film has an MTC score of 55 (33 reviews), which is slightly higher than the 54 points of "Thor 2".

Selected media reviews

The Guardian: The film is not completely boring and has some novelties, but it is not particularly exciting either, mainly because it lacks the lighthearted wit of Marvel movies.

"Empire": Zhao Ting brings the audience into the world of superheroes with great ambition and dazzling cosmic scale, but even so, it cannot escape the clichés in superhero stories.

BBC: "Eternals" may not be Marvel's worst movie, but it is undoubtedly the most disappointing.

ComicBook: This is easily one of the most divisive films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Regardless of how you feel about it, there's no denying that Phase 4 is off to an exciting start.

Among the movies adapted from Marvel comics, "Eternals" is not the lowest rated on Rotten Tomatoes. The lowest is "Elektra" starring Jennifer Garner in 2005.
