Venom 2 director: It's only a matter of time before Spider-Man and Venom finally meet

It's hard to imagine Venom without Spider-Man, but the two have yet to meet in any modern movies. Venom 2 director Andy Serkis told IGN that Venom and Spider-Man will eventually meet, it's just a matter of time.

"Everybody wants to know when Venom meets Spider-Man, and I personally feel like, that's not going to happen," Serkis told IGN. "I'm kidding, of course. It will happen, it's just a question of when. We don't want to do it too soon."

It depends on when you think about going there, and it depends on the appetite of the audience. If people want more Venom stories, then by jumping straight to Spider-Man, you might miss out on so many great supervillain characters. So in a way, you might have closed the door when you rushed through. Whereas, if people love that world, then I think there could be some fantastic stories with all the other canonical characters in Venom — for example, all the supervillains in Ravencroft and their crazy crime agency .”

This may mean that future Venom movies will be linked with Spider-Man.

"Venom 2" will be released in North America on October 1st.
