'Chariots of Fire' to be adapted into action comedy 'Falcon' starring Anthony Mackie

According to Deadline, Marvel's "Falcon" actor Anthony Mackie will star in the TV series adapted from Sony's "Chariots of Fire" game, playing the protagonist John Doe.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Anthony Mackie, whose ability to blend comedy, action, and drama is a perfect fit for the Chariots of Fire world we’re creating,” said Asad Qizilbash, head of PlayStation Productions.

Sony's vehicular combat series is being adapted into an action-comedy from Deadpool and Zombieland screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

Chariots of Fire focuses on an outsider tasked with delivering a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. It features bandits driving deadly vehicles, including Chariots of Fire's iconic character Sweet Tooth, a psychotic clown who drives a modified ice cream truck.

Glenn Adilman, executive vice president of comedy development for Sony Television, said: "We have been huge fans of Anthony's outstanding work for many years and we knew he was the only actor who could play a character as complex, funny and compelling as John Doe."
