Overview of the film

Crayon Shin-chan: Storm Called! Kasukabe Boys of the Evening Sun is the 12th film in the Crayon Shin-chan series, released on April 17, 2004. The film is based on the manga by Yoshito Usui and directed by Tsutomu Mizushima. It was produced by Shin-Ei Animation, TV Asahi, and ADK, and distributed by Toho. story

The movie begins with the Kasukabe Defense Force hanging out at the Kasukabeza movie theater. When Shinnosuke returns from a trip to the bathroom, his friends have suddenly disappeared. At night, the Nohara family, worried about their missing friends, come looking for the theater, but are drawn in by the endless Western movie footage that is playing, and suddenly realize they are standing in the same Western town as in the movie.

As Shinnosuke and his friends wander the streets trying to return to Kasukabe, they are confronted by the completely changed members of the Kasukabe Defense Force. Kazama has become a violent sheriff, and Masao and Nene have become a married couple. Everyone has lost their memories of Kasukabe and are living new lives. They promise to return to Bo-chan, the only person who still has memories, but as their life in this world continues, Shinnosuke and his friends gradually lose their memories of Kasukabe and become accustomed to life in this world.

Will Shinnosuke and his friends be able to find their true selves and return to Kasukabe? This question is at the heart of the story.
