Mission-E Review: A masterpiece anime with thrilling missions and a deep story

Mission-E: A new battle between people with electromagnetic abilities and the path to coexistence

Broadcast as a television anime series in the summer of 2008, Mission-E tells a new story about electromagnetic wave users. It was written by Sasahara Kaede, directed by Kato Toshiyuki, animated by Studio Deen, and produced by avex entertainment and Studio DEEN. It is a sequel to CODE-E, which aired in 2003, and is set in a world five years later. Mission-E depicts the conflict between the social adaptation and isolation/management of TYPE-E users, and asks the question of whether their fate is conflict or coexistence.

story

In the near future in Japan, TYPE-E users live their lives unaware of their powers. Meanwhile, Miharu, an office worker, is worried about the constant destruction of electrical devices around her. One day, several men appear in front of her and try to take her away, telling her that she is in imminent danger. However, at that moment, two women wearing iridescent body suits appear dashingly, engage the men, and rescue Miharu.

The two women were TYPE-E users, Kimizuka Maori (17 years old) and Ebihara Chinami (22 years old). They were members of OZ, an organization that aims to help TYPE-E users adapt to society, and they had come to help Miharu. Meanwhile, the men who had tried to take Miharu away were members of the Foundation, which advocates the isolation and management of TYPE-E users.

The story revolves around the conflict between OZ and the Foundation. OZ aims for TYPE-E users to adapt to society and live normal lives. On the other hand, the Foundation insists on isolating and controlling them. Through the conflict between these two organizations, the fate of TYPE-E users is depicted.
