The year is 2053. Earth has lost most of its population to an invasion by mysterious life forms that suddenly appeared from outer space. As all of humanity's counterattack plans end in failure, the Japanese Frontline Army's Fuji Base plans a final operation, "Plan Zette," to strike at the enemy's base. Akeshima Taishi, a robot weapon pilot, is ordered to defend the base at all costs in this operation, which cannot afford to fail. Before the battle, Taishi evacuates his only remaining family member, his younger sister Koyomi, to the safety of Mars.
