story

The story begins with Kaoru forgetting the lunch box he made for Hayate, who was supposed to meet up with him later, on the bus on the way there.

At the amusement park, unexpected events await, such as a car chase with an employee and a game battle with Emily, who aims to become a world-class professional gamer. However, Rilakkuma's ability to heal those around him at his own pace no matter what kind of crisis he's in will cheer up both adults and children.

Rilakkuma : A bear costume that suddenly took up residence in Kaoru's house. He spends every day lazing around, but he is a mysterious being with a zipper on his back. His favorite foods are pancakes, omelet rice, pudding, and dango. His main interests are food and snacks.

Kaoru : A slightly silly woman in her 30s who works as an office lady in Tokyo. She lives in the apartment where Rilakkuma lives, and is the owner of Kiiroitori. The appearance of Rilakkuma and friends fills her daily life with a few laughs and a lot of troublesome events.

Korilakkuma : A small white bear that appeared out of nowhere. It seems he was not acquainted with Rilakkuma, but he has a red button on his chest, so he doesn't seem to be a real bear. He is a mischievous and lively boy.

Kiiroitori : A yellow bird that Kaoru had kept as a pet before Rilakkuma and his friends came. He used to live in a birdcage, but now he is free to come and go as he pleases. He is hardworking and clean, and his hobby is saving money.

Background

This series is based on San-X's popular character "Rilakkuma" and was animated by Dwarf. It is directed by Masahito Kobayashi and written by Takashi Tsunoda and Makoto Ueda. The stop-motion animation technique is used to recreate the realistic movements of Rilakkuma and friends.

Character design is handled by Francesca Natale, who focuses on Kaoru's designs to bring out the individuality of each character, while many other creators, including Tateoka Takashi and Ogawa Iku, are also involved in the secondary character design.
