"Furiren: The Funeral of Frieren" is a TV anime series based on the manga by Shogakukan, written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. It aired on the Nippon Television Network from September 29, 2023 to March 22, 2024, starting with a two-hour special and then airing one episode per week. "Funeral of Frieren" tells the story of Frieren, an elven sorcerer, who embarks on a new journey in a world after defeating the Demon King, looking back on the time she spent with her companions. Frieren is an elf, so she has a long life span, and is keenly aware of how short the lifespans of humans and other species are. Witnessing the deaths of her companions, she realizes how precious the time she spent with them was. As a result, Frieren decides to embark on a journey to understand the human sense of time and deepen her bond with humans.
