Filming of "The Vanished Murder Case" begins with Simon Yam, Lam Suet and Maggie Shiu

The suspense film "The Disappeared Murder Case", directed by Luo Shouyao, the director of "Legend of the Conqueror" and "The Extinction", recently held its opening ceremony, inviting the usual cast of actors such as Simon Yam, Maggie Shiu, Cheung Siu Fai, Lam Suet, Timmy Hung, and Natalie Tong. The story tells of a human body part that was found buried for eight years during the reconstruction of a building, and how to solve the case amidst many doubts.

Simon Yam and Maggie Shiu, who have not collaborated for a long time, did not have any scenes together in the new film, but it brought back memories of the two when they were filming "PTU". Simon Yam even revealed that Maggie Shiu was ordered by director Johnnie To to stop working and lose weight during filming because she was too plump.

Director and screenwriter Luo Shouyao said: "I am really happy to start the film now. I have been thinking about the story for 10 years. I have been waiting for the opportunity all the way because the subject matter is so biased. But now I don't think about it anymore. I just do what I want to do. The subject matter of the story comes from a real case, the water tank corpse case in 1983. Because the ending is strange, our drama is not a remake, but it is inspired by it. The most special thing is that after the murderer admitted to the murder, he went to the Court of Final Appeal. The jury unanimously ruled that it was self-defense and acquitted him in court. I think the whole thing is very interesting, so I used it as the subject matter."

When talking about the cast, Luo Shouyao said with a smile: "First of all, this is a Hong Kong film, and actors are hard to come by now. We are very happy that well-known actors are willing to come. Fortunately, we can call old friends back to help. We have worked with Tianming once in "Black Fist", but we have never used Chan Ching and Ho Wah Chiu. However, we are all very happy to work with him."
