— There may be at least one scene in the latest Fast & Furious movie that sees Ludacris leave the Earth's atmosphere, and that's good news. In The Fast and the Furious, Vin Dessar's Dominic Toretto famously said he lived his life "a quarter mile at a time." And in Fast & Furious 9, it looks like at least one of the franchise's main characters will be traveling 250 quarter miles into space. Back in July, in an interview with SiriusXML, series star Ludacris hinted that there would be a scene set in space in Fast & Furious 9, but he did not reveal the specifics. Recently, SiriusXM interviewed the series' star Michelle Rodriguez, and her answer to whether the movie contains space scenes gave us seemingly more reliable information. "How did you know that?" Rodriguez asked. "No one should know that." Rodriguez said he did not go into space, but this more or less reveals that there are indeed space scenes in the movie. Could it be that Ludacris went to space to bring Han back from the brink of death? Rodriguez also revealed that director Justin Lin brought a female screenwriter to the film. She did not name the female writer but called her "SLP." Rodriguez had previously said that she would quit the series if the cast did not give women more care and deeper portrayals. "Fast and Furious 9" will be released on April 2, 2021. |
