The director responsible for the live-action film adaptation of "Mega Man" recently stated that he will soon announce big news to fans. This time last year, Capcom announced that Mega Man would be adapted into a Hollywood live-action film to commemorate the series' 30th anniversary. The publisher/developer said at the time that they believed the live-action film would "further revitalize the brand," but since then, there has been little news about the film. Director Henry Yost and Ariel Schulman (the development team behind Paranormal Activity 3 and Paranormal Activity 4) attended the Comic-Com@Home event to confirm that filming is underway, and they also teased that big news would be coming "soon." "We're very excited about it," director Yost revealed to IGN. "I think we'll have big news soon. I can't say too much right now, but it's a project that's very close to our hearts and we're very excited." The two co-directors also confirmed that Mattson Tomlin, the screenwriter of "Project Grimm", will participate in writing the script. When asked what inspired them to make the film, co-director Schulman said: “We all loved the underdog hero. We were all fascinated by the future of robotics and automation, for better or for worse. I thought it would be the ultimate challenge to try to incorporate that into one of our favorite video games.” |
