Disney is making a TV version of "National Treasure" with a younger version of the main cast

According to foreign media Variety, producer Jerry Bruckheimer revealed that the well-known action-adventure film series "National Treasure" is not only planning to shoot a third film, but is also developing a TV series. The third film will have the original cast return and be released in theaters, while the TV series will be released on the streaming platform Disney+ with a younger lead actor, but the story concept is the same. Both projects are currently under active development.

Jerry Bruckheimer said: "We are certainly making one (National Treasure) for streaming, we are also making one for the big screen, and we will bring you another National Treasure... The cast of Disney+ is much younger. The TV version is the same concept, but with younger actors. The movie version will be the original cast."

"National Treasure" stars Nicolas Cage and focuses on a series of treasure hunts that Benjamin, an amateur cryptographer born into an adventure family, and computer expert Reilly, library doctor Abigail and others have launched. The first two films were directed by Joe Dettuba and starred Justin Bartha, Diane Kruger, Jon Voight, Harvey Keitel, etc. They both received good reviews and grossed $347 million and $457 million worldwide respectively. Earlier, there was news that Chris Bremner ("Bad Boys for Life") was approached to write the script for "National Treasure 3".
