Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse producer promises: No AI used

Recently on social media, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse producer Christopher Miller promised fans that they don't have to worry about the team's use of artificial intelligence in the upcoming sequel.

A fan tweeted, referencing Miller and co-creator Phil Lord, "To @SonyAnimation, please keep generative AI out of Spider-Man Beyond. AI has no value other than taking people's jobs and making garbage. We don't want it anywhere near this movie or any movie for that matter, please keep it out of the movie making process. Thank you."

Generative AI has been the focus of many artists, and while some believe it can allow some people to realize their own creativity without technology, the general view of most people in the art world is that it is not creative, trains models by stealing other people's artworks, and is full of fallacies. Miller, who produced "Into the Spider-Verse" and "Into the Spider-Verse," one of the most artistic recent animated film series, said they have no interest in using AI.

He quickly responded to the fan: "There is no generative AI in Spider-Man: Beyond, and there never will be. One of the main goals of this film was to create a new visual style that has never been seen in a studio CG film, rather than stealing the average of other artists' work."

Spider-Man: Beyond the Universe was originally scheduled to be released in March 2024, but was later postponed. Although the new release date has not been officially announced, it seems that singer d4vd, who is involved in the production of the film, recently revealed that the film may be released in 2025.
