Thor 3 director rumored to be directing new Star Wars movie

According to foreign media reports, Taika Waititi, director of Thor 3, has been approached to direct a new Star Wars movie. In fact, Waititi has long been part of the Lucasfilm family. He directed the last episode of the first season of The Mandalorian and dubbed the IG-11 character in The Mandalorian.

According to The Hollywood Reporter THR, the outcome of negotiations between Waititi and Disney/Lucasfilm is currently unclear; both companies declined to comment to THR.

It is worth mentioning that Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige is also developing a "Star Wars" movie. It is not clear whether the "Star Wars" movie to be directed by Taika Waititi and Kevin Feige's "Star Wars" movie are the same.
