The Mandalorian may have just wrapped up its first season, but showrunner and executive producer Jon Favreau has confirmed that season 2 will arrive in the fall of 2020. The last episode of The Mandalorian Season 1 was recently aired on Disney+. On the same day, Jon Favreau sent out the above tweet and also released a picture of the Gamorrean, suggesting that at least one Gamorrean will appear in Season 2. IGN says the Gamorreans are an alien race that made their most notable appearance in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. They were Jabba's guards, which could be a clue for Season 2. Will there be more Hutts in Season 2? Considering the show explores the seedy underbelly of the Star Wars universe, it wouldn't be too surprising if other big players in the galactic criminal underworld show up. According to the encyclopedia, Gamorreans are also commonly known as pig-headed guards. They are a race in the Star Wars series of films and TV series. They look ferocious and are usually used as bodyguards and thugs. Gamorreans look like wild boars and warthogs, are sturdy and bulky, stand 1.8 meters tall and weigh more than 100 kilograms. Most of them have green skin. Many Gamorreans who left their home planet were hired as mercenaries and thugs. As long as the salary is high, Gamorreans are willing to work for anyone. But according to tradition, they will not serve those who are inferior to themselves in combat. Despite the introduction of modern blasters and weapon technology, Gamorreans still prefer to chop with axes, swords and sticks. |
