Star Wars 9: The Rise of Skywalker will be officially released on December 20, marking the end of the "Skywalker Chapter" of the historic series. To celebrate this upcoming milestone, the well-known auction house Sotheby's recently launched an online auction event, listing rare Star Wars trilogy (1977-1983) peripheral collectibles. A total of 104 pieces of Star Wars peripherals are being auctioned, specifically Star Wars: A New Hope, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Most of the items, such as posters, prints, decals, and figures, are from the 1970s, while a small number of items are from the 1980s, including an IG-88 figure and vintage advertisements. Among the more eye-catching items are a prototype of an Imperial Stormtrooper helmet (estimated to sell for $77,500), a C-3PO helmet, and this Darth Vader head. The work is called "Bring Me Back Darth Vader's Head" and was created by director and artist Clive Baker. Most of the lots still retain their original packaging, which is a relief for many obsessive collectors. The following special poster is also quite eye-catching - a special Japanese poster designed by Ohari Noriyoshi, which Sotheby's defines as "extremely rare." Sotheby’s official website has now launched a complete catalog of all products, with starting prices ranging from 50 pounds to tens of thousands of pounds. The auction will end on December 13.
